We agreed to focus on:

NOOD’s in March

Yachting Cup in May

Commodores Cup in July

Beneteau Cup in September

Hot Rums in Nov/Dec as our 40.7 High-Point Series.

Additionally, our idea is to have a second trophy for the Beer Can Series acknowledging the best finishers among the 40.7′s in the CRA Beer Can Series.

New Year’s Day Race

Several 40.7 were in the New Year’s Day Race in San Diego. The results are posted on the SDYC website here.

Class 2: Mike Dorgan’s French Toast and Rick Day’s Audacious finished 16th and 17th.

Class 5: Darroch Cahen’s Sorcerer VII finished 13th.

Attention San Diego Fleet

San Diego Fleet how about a practice on Saturday 10 July. We can warm up with a Class 6 race at the Navy Yacht Club in South Bay and then some spinnaker drills before the BBQ. Here is a chance for the less experienced to get some practice. The more experienced skippers should mentor & coach to build the race fleet.

Border Run this Weekend

Several 40.7s are participating on this weekend’s Border Run. Browsing through the Entry List posted on the Border Run website, it looks like Lugano (Mark Stratton), Blue Agave (Dick Hohol) and Super Knat (Cliff Thompson) will be joining the race. We hope to keep you updated on different events around the Southern California area. Of late, the 40.7 community in Southern California has not been as active as we’d like, so we hope this website can encourage boat owners to get more involved and share their experiences, but most importantly keep them updated of different regattas and events they can participate it.

If you’re a 40.7 owner in the Southern California area, get in contact with us and send us photos or information about your boat, crew, etc. We’ll be happy to welcome you to the community.
