Attendees: Drumshanbo (Kirk O'Brien), Silhouette (Warren Gross), First Light (Gary Jorgensen), Super Gnat (Cliff Thompson), Wiki Wiki (Mike and Carol Honeysett), and Estella-b (Armando Silvestre)
Kirk proposed a 2007 calendar
SDYC has offered to support us for SDYC one design weekends
Suggested that the 40.7’s and J-120’s do one day, and the J-105’s and 36.7’s the other
So each regatta would be one day only
Kirk proposed a 2-tier high point trophy system
True high points composed of Midwinters, NOOD, YC, and Beneteau Cup
One design weekends and the south bay regattas, which would count with the others into an overall trophy
Decisions
All agreed that we’d like to drop the Friday of NOOD, and only do Saturday and Sunday
Cliff suggested that we put the Beneteau Rendezvous on the calendar to support SWYS
Agreed that the Beneteau Cup should not be part of the high point series – it should be standalone
6 one design weekends
6 other weekends (midwinters, NOOD, YC, South Bay Invit, and Crown Cup, Little Ensenada)
Flat scoring (no tiering) for high points
Worst 25% thrown out
Kirk proposed a year-end party at Warren’s house
Cliff suggested that each boat name a crew person of the year
Mike Honeysett suggested having at least one clinic
All agree that we should try to set one up
Cliff suggested that we do either Long Beach Race Week or Ahmanson next year
There was a lot of discussion, and a lot of agreement that Long Beach would be a good choice, but no decision was made
Warren suggested that we allow sail changes per race, not per regatta
All agreed that we should make this change to the rules for 2007
Everyone send info to Gary about old sails they’d like to sell, and I’ll post on the web site
All agreed that we may want to allow carbon spinnaker poles starting next year.
Gary will call Hall Spars to see what it cost to buy 6-8 new 3.5 inch tubes which we’ll build up ourselves (volume buy).
Gary to set up a page on the web site for tips, parts maintenance, etc.
The next owners meeting will take during the Beneteau Cup in September
